My name is Tyson Okoth. I am 18 years old and currently in my second year of high school.
I live in the Mukuru kwa Reuben informal settlements in Nairobi with my single mother. I have not been going to school since mid-term break because of the lack of school fees.
My mother has been struggling to pay my school fees. She has now reached a point where she cannot manage anymore and I have been sent home.
Although I am at home I have been working hard, and I promise if you give me this chance I will continue working hard in school.
My dream is to be a doctor. If I achieve my dream, I would like to help children who want to learn but are held back because their parents cannot afford their school fees.
